Ronald Cohen, MD University of Chicago  Medical Center, Section of Endocrinology		Meet The Essential Endocrinology Bookshelf Clinical Expert...  Ronald Cohen, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Chicago. He received an AB from Harvard University and an MD from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his internal medicine training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as well as his endocrinology fellowship training, where he worked in the laboratories of Drs. Tony Hollenberg and Fredric Wondisford. After his clinical and research training, he stayed at Beth Israel/Harvard Medical School as an Instructor in Medicine before moving to the University of Chicago. Dr. Cohen’s clinical interests focus on patients with thyroid disorders, particularly hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer. In his laboratory, he studies the function of a group of proteins termed “nuclear receptor corepressors” in endocrine tissues such as the adipocyte. He is also very active in medical education at University of Chicago, from undergraduate teaching through advanced clinical endocrinology instruction.
